November 25: International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women
Nisaa FM: - From November 25 to December 10, 2017, Women's Learning Partnership (WLP) is participating in the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV), a global campaign to build awareness of and end violence against women and girls.
This year's theme, "Together We Can End GBV in Education," places a strong emphasis on the human rights framework in order to advocate for institutional and policy change that prevents and addresses GBV in education.
In Palestine the campaign will be joined by following: WLP Palestine – WATC, Al Muntada (Palestinian Non-Governmental Organizations Against Violence Against Women), Amal Coalition and The National Committee for the 16 days of Activism in partnership with the Ministry of Women’s Affairs.
The campaign will include:
- A number of workshops and trainings for various stakeholders through the 16 days
- Mock Court for policymakers and media to raise awareness about violent crimes against women
- A conference to present papers and fact sheets about violence against women and
- Meetings and workshops with policymakers to highlight the situation of Palestinian women in Jerusalem in regards to violence against women.

Palestinian women in solidarity protest on 25 November 2017
On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on 25 November 2017, Palestinian women participated in a solidarity protest with Palestinian women prisoners held in Israeli jails in Gaza City.
