World’s youngest psychologist, 13, is one of Mexico’s most powerful women

Thirteen-year-old Dafne Almazan considers her status as one of Mexico’s most powerful women “a great honor.” “This way I can show everyone that it’s worth it doing your best,” she told PRI. She also studies the piano, teaches Mandarin and participates in a plethora of other activities. “It’s not actually that hard, to be honest,” she says. “It’s not like getting up really early every day and staying up really late. I just try to organize my time as best as I can so I can do all the things I like.” Almazan, a graduated psychologist who was named among 500 of Forbes’ most powerful Mexican women this summer, plans to pursue her master’s degree in education, joining just a few others who can say they’ve gained their master’s degree while still a minor. In a country of 120 million people, Mexico boasts one million underage geniuses.
